Transform trash into treasure
The Art of Recycling, a new competition supported by Expertise Events and the Australian Textile Arts & Surface Design Association Inc for the upcoming Textile Art Festival, will challenge textile artists. With $2 000 to be won, the competition will challenge textile artists to create an artwork made predominantly from textiles and recycled materials.
The competition is open to all textile artists and has two categories: ‘Wearable Art’ and ‘Textile Art to Live With’. By displaying artworks made from objects and textiles that would normally be thrown away, The Art of Recycling aims to raise awareness on the importance of resource conservation by reducing, reusing and recycling.
