Generator at NORPA is a new creative development program that will energise theatre making in the Northern Rivers region.
NORPA believes in the kind of theatre that:
• Reflects contemporary Australian culture;
• Is highly collaborative;
• Springs from the curiosity of all kinds of artists;
• Is physical and dynamic, and
• Is a place for new ideas and artistic experimentation.
In 2009 NORPA will offer 2 Generator Residencies, each of up to 2 weeks duration in Lismore NSW. The residency includes rehearsal space, share accommodation for up to 5 people, some technical assistance, a modest budget and a theatre for a showing of the work in progress. A showing of some kind is a requirement of the residency. Each group will be allocated a budget of $2500 to be used on the work.
Applications are now open for Residencies to take place between 1 August and 30 November 2009. The deadline for applications is Friday 20 March 2009.
For more information and to apply visit the NORPA website norpa.org.au.
